Question: Survival Gear and Ideas for Children

Hello I am a mother of two. One 8 yr old boy and one 9 month old girl. Forgive me if I missed this in among the survival topics, but I haven't seen information on survival gear for children. I am wondering if anyone has ideas in this area. I am especially trying to figure out how to prepare for Alaska climates and possibly bugging out with my 9month old. I am thinking that making some kind of parka that can go over both of us so that she is next to me and under my gear might somehow work. Any ideas?
